Questions and answers
DocumentationIs it really free?
Yes. You do not need a card to sign up or to run a server. The free plan gives you up to 2 servers.
Why does my server stop by itself?
A server runs only while somebody is playing. When nobody has been online for a few minutes, it goes to sleep and uses no resources: that is what keeps zuboku free. Your world is saved. Press Start on the site and the server is ready again in about half a minute.
Can my friends start the server?
A server starts only from the website, so a friend cannot wake it just by joining. You can give a friend the right to start it in the Access tab.
Which version of Minecraft can I use?
Minecraft: Java Edition. Choose Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt and the version of the game you want, and change them later in the Software tab. Bedrock Edition is not supported.
How do my friends join?
Send them the server address from the panel, for example myserver.zuboku.com. In Minecraft they open Multiplayer, click Add Server, paste the address and join. There is nothing to download.
Can I use plugins and mods?
Yes. Paper, Purpur and Spigot servers have a Plugins tab, and Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt servers have a Mods tab. Both search Modrinth and install in one click.
Can I run a server on my own computer instead?
You can, but the computer has to stay on, a port has to be opened on the router and your friends need your IP address. All the ways are compared in the article How to Make a Minecraft Server to Play with Friends. Here you can skip all of that.
Can I take my world with me?
Yes. Make a backup and download it at any time. You can also upload your own files in the Files tab.
