Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 October 20265 min read

By creating an account or running a server on zuboku you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.

1. The service

zuboku provides free hosting for Minecraft: Java Edition servers. You create a server on the website and start it from the website, and your friends join it at the address we give you. We may stop a server on which nobody is playing, and you can start it again from the website.

The service is free and has limits, for example on the number of servers per account, memory, disk space and the size of uploaded files. We may change the limits, add features or remove them at any time.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • Give us a real email address that you can read. We use it for password resets and important notices.
  • Keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything that happens in your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not create several accounts to get around the limits, and do not sell or give away your account.
  • Give access to your servers only to people you trust. You are responsible for what they do there.

3. Your servers and content

You keep the rights you have in the worlds, files, mods, plugins and other content you put on your server (“your content”). You allow us to store, copy, process and transmit it as far as needed to run the service, for example to start your server, make backups, fix crashes, handle complaints and enforce these Terms.

You are responsible for your content, for the software you run and for everything that happens on your server, including what other players do there. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you upload and that you follow the licences of the mods and plugins you install.

Minecraft is a game by Mojang Studios and Microsoft. By creating a server you confirm that you have read and accept the Minecraft EULA and the Minecraft Usage Guidelines. If you take payments on your server, you must also follow Mojang’s rules for commercial use.

4. What is not allowed

Do not use zuboku to do, host or share any of the following:

  • anything illegal, or any content that sexualises minors (we may report such cases to the authorities);
  • malware, phishing, spam or scams, or pretending to be another person or organisation;
  • attacks on other systems or networks, such as DDoS, port scanning, exploiting vulnerabilities or guessing passwords;
  • crypto mining or any other heavy computation that is not part of running a Minecraft server;
  • proxies, VPNs, bots, file hosting or anything else that is not a Minecraft server;
  • hate speech, harassment, threats or publishing other people’s private data;
  • content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • any attempt to break or overload the service, to get around its limits, or to reach other people’s servers, accounts or data.

5. Fair use of resources

All servers share the same machines. We may limit the CPU, memory, disk space and network a server can use, and we may stop or restart servers that harm other users or the service.

6. Backups and data loss

You can create backups of your server, and we keep up to 2 per server. We do not guarantee that your data will always be available or recoverable: hardware fails, files get damaged and mistakes happen. Download copies of the worlds and files that matter to you.

7. Unused servers and accounts

We may stop or delete servers and accounts that have not been used for a long time. If you turned on notifications in your account settings, we may email you about it.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or delete a server or an account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we receive a valid complaint about your content, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect other users or the service. You may stop using zuboku at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to contact@zuboku.com from the email address of your account.

9. Copyright and other complaints

If you believe that something on a zuboku server infringes your rights, write to contact@zuboku.com and include:

  • what infringes your rights and where it can be found;
  • who you are and how we can reach you;
  • a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them.

We review the complaints we receive and may remove content that clearly breaks the law or these Terms. We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.

10. No warranty

zuboku is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will always work, be fast, be free of errors or keep your data. We may take it down for maintenance or stop it altogether.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent that the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or lost worlds, or for anything that happens on a server run by another person. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. For the free service, that amount is zero. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that the law does not allow us to limit, including consumer rights that apply where you live.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. If you keep using zuboku after a change, you accept the new Terms. If a change is important, we will tell you on the website.

13. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft

NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT/SERVICE. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.

14. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without affecting the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. If you have a question about these Terms, write to contact@zuboku.com.
